The Ampath Lab Assistant Learnership provides a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge as a credible Lab Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and processing specimens accurately and maintaining the laboratory’s cleanliness and safety. This includes regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe work environment. Additionally, building and maintaining positive client relations to strengthen Ampath's reputation is an essential aspect of this position. Administrative tasks are also part of the role, which help uphold effective administration systems within the laboratory. To support timely specimen results, you will be required to perform special laboratory procedures and ensure an efficient specimen flow throughout the laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens with accuracy
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety through regular maintenance
• Build and sustain positive client relations
• Perform various administrative tasks to support laboratory operations
• Conduct special laboratory procedures to ensure timely specimen results
• Ensure efficient specimen flow throughout the laboratory

Qualifications

• Completed Grade 12 with subjects in English, Biology (Life Sciences), and Mathematics
• Registered with HPCSA in the relevant register and practice field
